My passion for making dance dresses started around 22 years ago when I made my daughters first dance dress. I am completely self taught, having had no formal training but developed my skills over the years before deciding to turn my hobby into a full time career nine years ago.
My daughter Hannah is a Professional Latin Dancer who has worked for me since leaving college seven years ago. She is now a skilled dressmaker and her dance knowledge and competitive experience is invaluable in the area of design. Much of our stonework is done by Hannah and she also assists in the administration of the business as well as running it in my absence.
Stacey joined us in June 2014 on a year long Apprenticeship Scheme in conjunction with Newham College where she gained an NVQ in Garment Manufacturing. Her Grandmother taught her to sew when she was just six years old and having done her work experience in a Bridalwear Company she decided that Fashion & Design was a path she wanted to follow. Having finished her apprenticeship she is now a permanent and invaluable member of our team and keeps us all "organised" as well as now being a proficient dressmaker . She makes great cakes as well!
Stefanie grew up in Denmark before moving to England some years ago when she commenced her very sucessful dancing partnership with Ben Taylor. Ben & Stefanie currently travel the world competing in Amatuer Ballroom Competitions. Stef is the first to admit that she can't sew although we are trying to convince her to learn!! She joined us last year and currently fits in a couple of days work a week into her very busy dancing schedule to help us out with our stoning.
Lois is our newest member of staff, joining us in August 2015. Having gained an A Level in Textiles she is working with us as an Apprentice Dressmaker whilst studying for an NVQ qualification in Garment Manufacturing at Newham College. Lois has excellent sewing skills and has already shown that she is going to be a great asset to our team
